Explore the concept of identity as it relates to themselves and their part in their environment and come up with a design. This design shall be applied to a functional personal item (cup, bowl or both) or built sculpture. To build this vessel, students will learn coil, slab and pinch methods and one or all methods in combination. Story Book Farm is a magical place for young children to explore and learn about farm animals and plants. Each day, campers experience a different part of the farm, like the cheerful poultry area or the calm cows, goats, sheep, and horses. Don't miss this super fun week of drawing with a twist as we dive into flipbooks and optical illusions! Flipbooks are one of the original forms of animation! We will use flipbooks to develop a character or an image, and learn how to make minor changes to create an animated flipbook using mini LED lightpads and special flipbook paper. In addition to flipbooks, campers will explore ways to trick our eyes with optical illusions. Get ready for a week of drawing and fun! ![]() |

We will learn how to use yarn to create your own loom, and weave unique tapestries/blankets/mug rugs of your design. No experience necessary. Work together as a collective and devise an original immersive play to be performed the evening of Friday, August 8th. Using improv exercises, playwriting techniques, movement activities, and music we will write and fully stage our immersive show over the course of five days. Audiences will follow our student actors through MHYT’s indoor and outdoor spaces as they are transported into the world of the story.
