Come Find Your Voice! As opposed to other debate camps that teach and focus on only one style of debate, Westfield welcomes debaters from across the spectrum of debate and forensic events. As winners of four international debate competitions in three different types of debate formats, Westfield's focus is on teaching and improving debate essentials including developing and refining oral advocacy skills and logical analysis. What better way to refine your debating skills than with the 2017 International Public Policy Forum world champs? Similarly, our Model UN(MUN) program will focus on developing essential MUN skills which include communication, strategy, leadership, consensus building and public speaking that can be applied to different procedural situations. Students will explore international relations and global affairs to deepen their understanding. Our daily simulations are fun and exciting and will include crisis committees. All our campers will also learn how to conduct and organize effective high-level research. Even if you are not sure about debate and MUN, this camp is the place for you! Introverts and extroverts alike will learn to become effective public speakers and strong oral advocates.

Join us this summer to experience the magic of the Westfield Debate and Model UN at an amazing summer camp located in the stunningly gorgeous Rocky Mountains! Campers will be joining us from around the world adding to the richness of our discussions. In addition to debate and MUN, campers will have the opportunity to enjoy the incredible range of activities the YMCA of the Rockies offers. This camp is for students ages 11-18 of all abilities. We group campers by ability and age. We have campers who are complete beginners all the way up to debaters who have won multiple international debate competitions and MUNers who consistently win Best Delegates in international MUN Conferences. We offer 1 or 2 week options. Students will arrive Sunday and leave on Saturday. Each week, students choose to focus on either debate or Model United Nations. Two-week campers can choose, for example, to do two weeks of either debate or MUN or one week of each. Each week stands alone and campers from our day camp will be able to build on what they learned in previous weeks. We have phenomenal Program Assistants (PAs) who join us from various prestigious colleges and universities such as Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Georgetown, Oxford, Middlebury and McGill. Campers will be able to choose from a variety of camp activities when they are not debating or MUNing. There will be group activities each evening including a weekly campfire, a camp dance, a talent show and a weekly visit to Estes Park. Two-week campers will get to choose an exciting activity for the weekend in-between including a hike in Rocky Mountain National Park with trained leaders who are certified in back-country leadership and horseback-riding surrounded by the majestic Rockies.
