It’s almost that time of year again – BACK TO SCHOOL! But if you’re sending a child with T1D back to school how do you do it safely and what tools do you need to be successful? The T1D Tools for School Picnic is a collaborative effort from the American Diabetes Association, Children's Diabetes Foundation, JDRF, and Colorado Kids with Diabetes to send T1D kids in Colorado back to school prepared!
Learn from family mentors and local school nurses about 504 Plans, blood sugar checks, class parties, and more. A school nurse and a volunteer mentor family will be assigned to each grade/age group to answer questions and talk through challenges you face managing T1D at school.
Bring a Picnic Lunch and games to play!
Type 1s and their family and caretakers are welcome.
Children’s activities and games will be supervised during learning sessions.
