What do you consider the characteristics of a good leader? How do you develop your skills? With the Conflict Center YOUth Leadership Academy, you’ll learn the skills to become a better leader in your school and in your community. As a leader, conflict is an inevitable obstacle and power dynamics are always present. However, we know that great leaders can utilize conflict as an opportunity for growth and connection and build leadership that promotes power within. In this half-day camp, you will gain skills such as effective communication and negotiation to help you become a better leader as well as skills such as emotional regulation and stress management to help you become a better YOU.
This interactive program will provide opportunities for students ages 11-14 to gain knowledge and practice skills around a wide variety of leadership topics. The camp will be capped at 6-8 youth, allowing for social distancing practiced as well as deep and meaningful relationship building.
Skills developed will include:

- Short and long term goal setting
- Advocating for yourself and others
- Managing stress and other heightened emotions
- Negotiation skills
- Positive and negative ways to use power
- Conflict Management

- Who: Youth ages 11-14
- Where: At The Conflict Center
- Cost: $200; 50% off if youth is on any government assistance
- When: First week of August- 8/3-8/6
- Mornings- 9am-12:30pm Monday-Thursday (14 hours total) (lunch not included)
