Top Four Summer Road Trip Survival Tips for Families

It’s time to hit the road for warm-weather travel! Whether you depart for a day trip or a cross-country adventure, planning ahead is essential to ensure you arrive at your destination smiling. Here are four essentials to pack.

1. Healthful Snacks

Because you may not be familiar with the route or what’s available to eat on the way, it’s a great idea to pack snacks the family will enjoy. Remember juice boxes, ice packs, and wet wipes for clean up. Sites such as are a convenient way to see what’s ahead. Or use your GPS or iPhone Apps to see what’s in the area so you can plan food stops.

2. Chargers

With all the electronic devices we have these days, be sure to pack plenty of chargers, or downsize to a universal charger such as those available at Target or Radio Shack, and online through Amazon and other stores.

3. First Aid Kit

If your trip involves outdoor adventure, be sure to take stock of your first aid kit and replenish any items that may have been depleted during the school year. Band aids, bug spray, sun block, and a disinfecting solution are always good to have on hand. Take along the phone numbers for your pediatrician and pharmacy just in case.

4. Entertainment
