Fun, fun, fun in the sun! Special Needs Summer Camp from 5/31 - 8/17. Exciting adventures for youth 5-18 (Colorado State Day Camp Licensed) and adults 19 and up for twelve weeks.

Participants have the adventures of a lifetime; each week has an educational experience with a theme.

Registration Information

No camp Friday, July 1 - Tuesday, July 5. You must have an interview and turn in all forms before any activity with the District. YOU MUST SIGN UP FOR ALL CAMPS/EVENTS ONE-MONTH IN ADVANCE. To be officially registered for camp, you must complete and turn in the full registration packet. For Special Needs Summer Camp this includes: 2016 Camp Application, Immunization Record, and Supplemental Health Statement. Rates are per child, per day. Detailed schedules for camps are available at Buchanan and Wulf Recreation Centers and are available to download from our website.

Forms/Records

All forms must be turned in by April 1 so the nurse can write a heath care plan for each participant. AA pre-registration interview with coordinator is required for new participants - no exceptions. Each child enrolled in the Special Needs Adventure Camp must have on file the following information:

1. Emergency & Permission Forms

2. Health Record, including immunization records

Staff/Licensing

Special needs counselor/child ratio depends on the needs of the child. Colorado State Day Camp Licensed. Safe environment supervised by experienced recreation professionals.

General Information

Camp is offered Monday through Friday throughout the summer. from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM, please be prompt. We will no longer provide before and after care as there were not enough participants. The staff may be able to accommodate you with private pay. Snacks are provided in the afternoon. Please bring a lunch and drink each day, as well as non-scuffing tennis shoes for use in the gym, and appropriate outdoor clothing. Medical paperwork is mandatory if your child requires medication. Children will be registered upon receipt of the required forms and fees (see above) unless notified.

 

No Refunds, Credits, or Transfers. Late pick up charge for Special Needs Adventure Camp after 4:00 PM is $10.00 for 1-15 minutes late and another $10.00 for 16-30 minutes late. EPRD accepts these methods of payment: cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

 

Field Trips

Daily camp fee includes transportation and supervision. An additional fee is charged for field trips and is shown on summer camp schedule that is available at both rec centers. Field trips will be scheduled once a week, and may change due to inclement weather

Lessons & Specialty Classes

Special Olympics Golf Team

Get into the swing of things and have fun. Learn from professionals how to play golf. Tee off at some of Colorado's finest country clubs and golf courses. Play in Special Olympics regional and state tournaments. Transportation available for camp to practice but not to clinics. Location: Evergreen Golf Course. Therapeutic Horseback Riding

What to Bring

Children need to bring a sack lunch, drink, and a water bottle. Please wear sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.
