Mini Makers is 12 week drop off course for ages 3-6. The focus will be on process art making and sensory play which is ideal for young artists to gain experience working with art materials. Makers will develop their own creativity, sharpen fine motor skills and build confidence, while making new friends. Three art stations (printmaking, collage, sculpture) the painting easel and two sensory activities will be available for exploration in each class.
Lessons are non-structured to encourage makers to explore the possibilities of paint, paper, glue, cutting, colors, shapes, patterns, textures and other basic art concepts in a relaxed and age appropriate way. The instructor will demonstrate the possibilities of the art media and techniques at the beginning of the class, then will allow the makers time to experiment and play.
The amount of artwork created by the young artists will vary dependent on the activities the child chooses to engage in. The Instructors will encourage each child to create at each station, but because we follow the lead of the child we will not force them to make something they are not interested in.
