This family-friendly, award-winning drum ensemble of twenty artists from Shanghai, China, will amaze audiences with their athletic, musical and dramatic drum work. Through their music, the GuGu Drum Group's artists tell traditional Chinese tales, stage fierce battles between the ox and the tiger, and play instruments as small as finger cymbals and as large as massive standing drums to weave magic on stage. Director Yang Xiaodong and his authentic ancient drum movements as well as the actual ancient drums themselves represent a powerful lineage of drum movements dating back to the times of the Emperors of Chinese Dynasties.
