Geology Hike

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 04/27/2019
Hiking through the Garden of the Gods presents a unique opportunity to understand not only the geology of the Garden but the general geology of the entire Front Range from northern New Mexico to southern Wyoming.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

The rocks exposed in and around the Garden and the crustal forces responsible for their geometric configurations are a microcosm of Colorado geology. Please join us for a hike with geologist Jay Temple to learn more about these beautiful geologic features. Program starts in the Red Rocks Room at the Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center followed by a moderate (2-3 mile) hike into the park. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy hiking shoes, and bring water, a hat and sunscreen.

$5 per person, reservations required.
