Gamelan Tunas Mekar

Experience the traditional music and dance of Bali, Indonesia! This performance will feature a welcoming dance, instrumental pieces, a demonstration explaining the instruments and how gamelan music is created.

Tunas Mekar will perform the traditional music and dance of Bali, Indonesia on its Gamelan Angklung. The performance will feature a welcoming dance, instrumental pieces, a demonstration explaining the instruments and how gamelan music is put together and played, and a participatory kecak (vocal chant). The audience is encouraged to ask questions after the demonstration and to play the instruments after the performance.

Sunscreen and blankets to sit on are highly recommended. Blankets will be given priority seating over lawn chairs.
