Learn Western Riding and horsemanship from FVS's Head Western Riding Coach, Vivian Hansen. Coach Hansen began riding horses at a young age and knew early on that she would like to pursue a career in the equine field. She graduated from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College with a B.S. in Equine Training & Instruction, competed on both of her school’s IHSA teams and was a regional qualifier all four years. While in college, she also held internships under NRHA Professional Andrew Fox and with the Equestrian Program at Academy of the Sacred Heart. Upon graduating college, she worked under NRHA Professional Matthew Palmer and traveled to multiple NRHA shows including the Derby and the NRBC.
The focus of this camp is to develop each individual's riding skills in a safe, professional atmosphere. Campers will also learn aspects of horse management including grooming, saddling, stable management, horse care, feeding, and basic veterinary and farrier care.
When: May 27 - May 31, 2024, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. daily
