Fly Fishing for Kids

Join South Platte Park guides to learn the basics of fly fishing! Kids will learn about fish and insects, reading water, knot tying and fly selection based on the season. They'll also learn about casting, mending as well as ethics and outdoor safety, then put all their new skills to the test in our lakes and river.

Bring your own rod/reel or rent one of ours for $10. Optional toolkit available for purchase for $60 at checkout includes consumables to keep including important local flies, leader and strike indicators, and some basic tools.
Children should be prepared for a day outside with warm layers, gloves, hats, sturdy shoes and water shoes or rubber boots (no crocs or flip flops). Bring water, two snacks and a lunch.
This program is for ages 10-15.
