Join us in the studio for a ceramics class where we'll handbuild to create a wide variety of functional and sculptural work! Students ages 7 - 11 will sculpt, form, press and build with clay. Using a variety of handbuilding techniques including slabs, coils, molds, pinching and more we will create both functional and sculptural pieces. Students will learn how to glaze, underglaze, and sgraffito their work, as well as work with other cold finishing techniques to finish pieces. After learning a handful of techniques, we will finish up the semester with independent projects. If you love working with clay, this class is for you! Spring 2026 highlights include: lidded forms, bird houses, vases, a cup, plate and bowl set, ceramic and prism suncatchers, and much more!
