WHEN SCHOOL IS OUT, SAFARI CAMPS ARE IN!

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Safari Mini-Camps provide the perfect adventure for campers that have the drive and desire to discover an affection for animals. Camps feature animal experiences, zoo expeditions, engineering authentic solutions to real-world challenges, and hands-on, camper-driven exploration. All 2018-19 camps will allow campers to build solutions to challenges based on Denver Zoo animals, their exhibits, and their native habitats! Sessions are available for children in Pre-K through 3rd Grade. Pre-K must be at least 4 years old. Morning and afternoon snacks are included. Campers: bring a lunch and join us for our Fall, Winter, and Spring Safari Mini-Camps!

All 2018-19 camps will allow campers to build solutions to challenges based on Denver Zoo animals, their exhibits, and their native habitats

November

19th – Elephant Escapades – Put your problem-solving skills to the test while helping some of Denver Zoo’s largest (and most intelligent) residents!  Solve colossal challenges by thinking about how these magnificent animals survive, thrive, and grow.  Our elephants will thank you a ton.  Just like an elephant, campers will have a time they will never forget!

20th – African Adventure – Discover the diverse and dangerous animals that call the African grasslands their home.  Only at Denver Zoo can campers study the savanna habitat so close to home. Wonder how these animals are able to share exhibit space, or what a “toy” or “game” for a lion looks like (no “cheetahs” allowed!), or why savanna animals are so good at being stealthy in the grasslands?  Find out during these “wild” mini-camps!

21st – Feasts for the Beasts - How do zoo animals celebrate the holidays?  With food and fun, just like you!  How do animals benefit from nature’s bounty, and what do Zoo nutritionists need to provide for them?  Learn the tricks of the trade as you take a peek into feasts for the beasts at Denver Zoo.
