Continue to practice how to throw on the pottery wheels! Wheel throwing is a fun and exciting medium for children to create functional artwork. After reviewing how to center the clay, build the floor of the pot, and pull the walls, students will experiment with building bowls, altering the form, and more. During this Continuing Wheel class, we will look at more advanced skills, improving our wheel throwing practice and focus on becoming a more independent potter!
This class has a prerequisite of having taken a Wheel Throwing 1 class at Tinker previously.
All pieces will be fired and glazed with dinnerware safe glazes -- suitable for eating or drinking out of, or putting into the dishwasher and microwave. Pieces will be sent home throughout the semester, though our final pieces will be glazed during the last class and ready for pick up about 2 weeks later.
