From the Colorado Parks and Wildlife to Bureau of Land Management, participating partners are hosting interactive educational “Missions” on the free Agents of Discovery app. The app challenges players to become “Agents” and to complete cultural and nature-based challenges while exploring local parks, and cultural landmarks.

Partners include:

Anna Urban, Outreach Coordinator at Mueller State Park, said, “Agents of Discovery is an exciting way to bridge the gap between our technology-centered lives and our connection to the outdoors. We’re excited to help build those connections and hopefully inspire action at our state park via the Colorado Explorer Campaign.”

The Colorado Explorer will run until August 31st 2026. Anyone can join by downloading the free Agents of Discovery mobile app and completing “Missions” — interactive games at participating locations. Each Mission is made up of fun, educational “Challenges” that teach players about local history, culture, ecosystems, and even safety.

Dan Dertz, Director of Douglas County Open Space and Natural Resources, said, “We are thrilled to introduce Dougie the Cubbie as Douglas County’s guide for the 2026 Colorado Explorer Campaign. Agents of Discovery gives us an exciting new way to connect people of all ages and abilities with the incredible stories, wildlife, and natural beauty of our open spaces. Whether you’re exploring a trail or participating from home, this program makes learning fun, interactive, and accessible – helping everyone discover what makes Douglas County’s open spaces so special.”

Players who complete Missions while logged in are automatically entered into a prize draw, with more entries for each Mission completed.
