Coding with Kids - Circuits Engineering with Raspberry Pi
*The event has already taken place on this date: Fri, 07/17/2020
Let’s explore circuit engineering with a Raspberry Pi kit. Campers will make advanced input and output devices, such as calculators. Additionally, we will learn how to code the devices to communicate wirelessly with each other and the internet.
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
Ages: 11-17 Tools: Raspberry Pi Prerequisites: None. Length: 1 week
CAMP DESCRIPTION: Campers will use a Raspberry Pi to design, wire-up, and build their own hardware devices - calculators, video game controllers, even music players! Using the Python programming language, we will learn how to send and read electricity to and from electronic components, and program the devices to communicate with each other. This is a great introduction to the principal of the Internet of Things, a system of devices that communicate with each other without human or computer interaction, such as in a smart home.
