Boulder Multi-Sport Day Camp | Kids Out and About Denver

Boulder Multi-Sport Day Camp

*The event has already taken place on this date: Fri, 08/12/2016
This camp offers the chance to dive into a range of adventure activities. Kids spend every day of camp immersed in a different outdoor sport—mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Grouped by grade, campers rise to new challenges and build more advanced skills as they move up through our program. Our 2nd – 4th graders focus on gaining comfort and building confidence with activities they may not be as proficient in, looking to staff members and returning campers as role models. Once they reach 5th – 7th grade, campers focus more on teamwork and building community as they deepen their technical competence in each activity.

Whether brand new to some of our activities or an expert in any number of disciplines, every camper will find opportunities to grow. Our Multi-Sport campers come back year after year, eager to see their friends and uncover skills they still have left to learn.

Kids at Multi-Sport Camp participate in a different outdoor activity every day. All activities take place within 20 minutes of camp. Here are some examples:

  • Rock Climbing
Kids learn the ins and outs of rock climbing techniques, precautions, equipment and history, and practice climbing on a real rock.
  • Canoeing and Kayaking: Our flat-water instruction program helps kids incrementally develop comfort with their equipment and environment. They practice paddling techniques and water safety and learn the history of the sports.
  • Mountain BikingAvid4 Adventure’s fleet of mountain bikes can accommodate kids of any size (although you can bring your own bike if you prefer). We work with kids of all ability levels, from those who can’t ride without staff assistance to proficient riders. Kids learn about technique, safety and equipment, as well as some basics of bicycle maintenance.
  • HikingOn our hikes, kids get out into nature, learning about flora and fauna and Leave No Trace outdoor ethics.

Throughout the week, in every activity, campers also learn the principles of Leave No Trace, building awareness, appreciation and respect for the outdoors.
