Art Crawl: Natural Art

Art Crawl is a program designed to offer infants (newborns through 14 months) and their caregivers an opportunity to experience art, build relationships, and learn together. Surrounded by Clyfford Still’s expansive body of work, Museum educators will lead participants through the galleries and provide provocations based on art exploration. Your guide will facilitate an interactive discussion on the importance of introducing your baby to art at an early age, as well as provide tips for experiencing art together. We encourage you to let your infant explore, follow their lead, and observe what draws their attention.

There are numerous connections between art and the natural world around us. In response to our curators of this show (children from the Colville Confederated Tribes in eastern Washington) choosing two of our galleries to reflect their connections of Still’s work to nature, an instructor from Denver Botanic Gardens will join us to explore the intersection of nature and art. We will observe Clyfford Still’s work, both abstract and representational, and engage with multisensory materials in the galleries while introducing infants to these connections and exploring other potential connections.

Space is limited, and pre-registration is required (you must purchase a Museum admission ticket or register with your CSM membership during online registration).
