The Pumpkin Kid At Historic Elitch Theater

First presented at the SoHo Playhouse in New York City, 2023, this toe-tapping musical fable comes to the Denver stage! An orphan boy with a wagon of misshapen pumpkins stops to visit his cranky neighbors: a surly blacksmith, a disillusioned woodcarver, and an ill-tempered, yet grief-stricken tailor. Begrudgingly, they each loan him a discarded tool — an old saw, a broken spoon, and a twisted hat pin — and with these he is able to create the most exquisite carvings. But what magic is revealed when these pumpkins are illuminated from within? And how is it that the light is able to change and transform hearts, even those that feel cracked, ruined, and beyond repair?
