A Summer to Cherish
The Montessori Children’s House of Denver was extremely proud be have been able to offer summer day camps this past summer. By following strict CDC guidelines, the recommendations of the local health department and employing rigorous safety precautions, we were able to provide stability for our families while keeping our students and staff safe.
We look forward to the summer of 2021, and the opportunity to safely expand our offerings with flexible options for parents looking to give their child the opportunity to enjoy summer days full of exploration, learning, imagination and creativity.
Age-Range of Campers
Our Summer Camp is open to all children ages 1 through 12, regardless of whether they are a current student. Our only exception is toddlers (ages 12-30 months), as Summer Camp spots are only available to toddlers also enrolled during the school year. If you are curious about our school, the Summer Camp is an excellent opportunity to meet us, get acquainted with our educational philosophy, and see how your child fits into our community.
All kids will participate in structured experiences that are developmentally appropriate for their age, while still being afforded the freedom to explore and engage in fun, imaginative play. Montessori believes in this careful mix of age-appropriate structure and freedom because it has been proven to help children learn and develop.
This is especially true at the elementary levels, where the children will help plan their weeks’ activities, granting them ownership of their own learning. It is a truly heartening sight to see the kids cooperating to create their own happy learning experiences.
Why MCHD
Unlike some summer camps, you can have peace of mind knowing that you’re leaving your children in the hands of a trained, qualified and dedicated teaching staff, many of whom carry over as teachers from MCHD’s school year. And rest assured, if there’s one thing our staff knows, it is how to foster a fun, educational environment catered to each individual child under our care.
Flexible Scheduling
MCHD offers four, two-week sessions, which include:
Session 1: June 7 – 18: Great Colorado Outdoors
Session 2: June 21 – July 2: Space Explorers
Session 3: July 5 – 16: Under the Sea
Session 4: July 19 – 30: Express Yourself: ART!
Our summer camps are designed to fit around your family’s schedule, both work and play. We have daily schedule options ranging from half-days to extended-days (7:30am – 6:00pm).
