Matisse's Gardens and Jazz - Danse Etoile Ballet

From his early dynamic Fauvist paintings to his delightfully original cut-outs, Matisse taught colors how to dance, June 5 and 6, 2020. In his own words, “There are always flowers for those who want to see them.” Inspired by Matisse’s Gardens and Jazz, Danse Etoile Ballet’s newest ballet will offer you a mural in motion of Matisse’s exploration of colors and shapes, & his huge appetite for happiness, his love of the human form. Premiering innovative choreography by Marie-Jose Payannet and original music pieces by Bruce Klepper, you will be immersed in Matisse’s art through the canvas of the stage and the brush of the music.
