Kids Zone: Coin Carving I – Hobo Nickels

Through fun activities, interactive exhibits and FREE classes, children can pick up basic and advanced concepts – from how to make change to understanding monetary systems. The exhibits teach children about history, geography, trade, art, world cultures and more.

Come learn about the fascinating world of Hobo Nickels, and their special place within numismatics and American History. We'll discuss their purpose, review various carvers' works, and then you'll learn how to create your own Hobo Nickel by "engraving" your own scratch art design!
Admission is FREE for children 12 and under. When kids participate in a Kids Zone class, their parents are allowed to view and explore teh Money Museum exhibits for free!
