Homeschool Day offers multiple experiences designed around a central theme that explores Butterfly Pavilion’s featured habitats and animals in a unique way. This event offers an admission discount for homeschool families and allows them to experience typical field trip opportunities, such as special classes, activities, and crafts.

Class Schedule

All classes will be held in Classroom B which is accessible through the back of Colorado Backyard near the camper.

  • 10:30 - 11:15 a.m.
    • Lacey Ladybug’s Garden Adventure
    • PreK-1st
    • Follow the journey of Lacey Ladybug as she grows up and explores her enchanting garden throughout the seasons. As Lacey encounters various challenges and makes new friends along the way, she teaches young learners about the fascinating world of ladybugs, including their life cycle, habitat, and vital role in nature.
  • 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
    • Life Cycles
    • K-3rd
    • Join us as we invite budding explorers to harness their senses and engage with live invertebrates, immersing them in the enthralling mystery of metamorphosis. Unleash their inner investigator and watch as they unravel the web of connections between these incredible creatures.
  • 1:30-2:15 p.m.
    • Born at BP
    • 2nd Grade and Up
    • Everyone loves baby animals! Learn about Butterfly Pavilion’s invertebrate breeding programs, their contribution to conservation, and what it takes to care for baby tarantulas, fireflies, and more!
  • 2:30-3:15 p.m.
    • Level Up!: How Different Invertebrates Grow
    • 2nd Grade and Up
    • We all know baby butterflies start as caterpillars, but have we ever stopped to wonder why? In this class well discover all the fascinating life cycles that invertebrates undergo, and why they evolved these different styles of growth.
