"Grease" Summer Musical Theatre Camp for Grades 6-12

You’ll be summer lovin’ and having a blast with "Grease is the Word," Stagebugz Theatre's performance camp themed after the Broadway smash-hit you know and love! Campers of all backgrounds and experience levels will sing, dance, act, and hand-jive their way to a week guaranteed to be too cool for school.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Join the eclectic class of Rydell High’s 1959 seniors, where good girl Sandy becomes swept up with too-cool-for-school Pink Ladies while trying to rekindle an unlikely relationship with head “greaser” Danny Zuko. Featuring all of your favorite characters and iconic songs like "Greased Lighnin'" and "Summer Nights," this blast-from-the-past musical theatre camp is "Hopelessly Devoted" to making this summer magical!

Stagebugz's teen camp challenges students of all experience levels in a fast-paced training program where they explore advanced performance techniques and take part in professional-style musical rehearsals. Every student of all levels is met where they're at and given opportunities to shine while working towards their individual interests and goals. Special topics workshops and peer groups enrich camp days and are tailored to provide a taste of other aspects of theatre outside of rehearsal time. Camp culminates in a staged showcase for friends and family, where every performer is guaranteed lines and a singing solo. Of course, there will be lots of games, team-building fun, and friendships that will last a lifetime!

Dates, Times, and Location

June 1st-June 5th, 2026

9 AM-3 PM

Camp and showcase will be held indoors at Three Leaches Theatre (1560 Teller Street, Lakewood, CO 80214)

Showcase

On the last day of camp, students will present what they've worked on throughout the week in a showcase for friends and family.

The showcase will take place on Friday, June 5th at Three Leaches Theatre (the same location as camp) at 1:00 PM.

Auditions

On the first day of camp, students will go through an informal, low-stakes "audition" workshop where they will learn a short song and dance and have an opportunity to read scenes from the "Grease" script. No prior preparation is necessary, but materials will be sent out one week prior to the start of camp in order to help mitigate nerves for anyone who prefers to see them in advance.

All registered performers are guaranteed at least one solo and speaking lines in the final showcase, and our small class sizes ensure that each performer receives ample time in the spotlight. Auditions simply help us to determine where everyone will learn the most and have the best experience. They are not meant to be stressful or overwhelming; they are part of the camp experience because they are a stress-free way to introduce students to the audition process if they should choose to continue pursuing theatre in the future! However, we never want auditions to prevent a performer from participating. If your child is not comfortable auditioning in-person, please reach out to stagebugztheatre@gmail.com and we would be happy to discuss alternative options.
