Geology Day: South Rim Trail Hike - Roxborough State Park

Geology is fun! Take a hike with a geologist and discover what makes Roxborough a geologic wonder on September 14, 2019. This is a 3- mile hike with a 500 ft. elevation gain. Bring snacks, water, and appropriate clothing.

Afterwards, learn more from the informational tables and interactive activities on the patio from our resident geologists and volunteers! BYOR (bring yur own rock or fossil), we'll help you identify it. Check out the park's collection of rocks, minerals and fossils. Don't forget to check out the paleontology exhibit inside the visitor center.
All vehicles need a pass to enter the park. Daily fee is $8. Please plan on comining early on the weekends. We usually go to capacity around 9:30 a.m. and thre could be up to a 45 minute wait. Please leave your pets and bike at home, they are not permitted in the park.
If you cannot make it please be considerate and cancel so that others may sign up.
