Camp Comfort is a weekend camp offered twice each summer that addresses the special needs of grieving children ages 6 - 12. Camp Comfort providers a supportive environment in which they can learn ways to cope with their grief through workshops and activities, building skills that may help them now and throughout their lives. Grief workshops are balanced with recreational activities, such as swimming, zip lining, horseback riding, and fishing so that children feel free to have fun.

Grief workshops are balanced with recreational activities, such as swimming, ziplining, horseback riding, and fishing so that children feel free to have fun and just be kids. Perhaps, most importantly the children are surrounded by the reassuring faces of other children recovering from psychological trauma.

Camp Comfort is located near Georgetown, Colorado on Interstate 70, just 32 miles west of Denver.

2020 Camp Dates:

June 12 -14

July 24 - 36

The total cost for the Camp Comfort weekend, including all meals, snacks, overnight accommodations, recreation, and workshops is $175. Scholarships are available. No child struggling with the death of parent or sibling is ever turned away for want of means.

Founded in 1995, Mount Evans Home Health Care & Hospice's groundbreaking bereavement camp has helped more than 1,500 Colorado children find a path through their grief. Children often carry a heavy burden when someone they love dies. Our hope is that through our curated program of emotional discovery led by licensed social workers and highly trained counselors, your child will learn skills to cope while also preserving positive memories of their loved one.
