Camp Backcountry - Teen Leadership

Leadership Camp: July 16 – July 20
Leadership Camp*
Come develop your leadership skills while going on adventures and having fun with other teens! Test your limits at an extreme team building course, work as a team to go whitewater rafting, summit a mountain, and participate in challenging team building activities! Leadership Camp is not restricted to those participating in our Leader-in-Training program, but Leadership Camp attendees that do participate in our LIT program will receive a $20 discount per session of the LIT program.
*This session includes a night hike, campfire chat, and overnight camp-out on Thursday. Campers will get dropped off on Thursday morning and picked up on Friday afternoon.
Leader in Training Program: May 29 – Aug 3, weekly sessions
The LIT program offers teens the opportunity to serve as role models for our campers, become better leaders, and make a difference in the lives of others. LITs take part in all aspects of the camp day. They help with activity implementation, organizing campers, leading lessons and games, and help lead all-camp activities such as predator vs. prey and color wars! LITs may be placed with our Explorer or Voyager nature camp, art camp, or horse camp groups.
*While there is no application, prior to registering, all LITs must submit a letter of interest to the Camp Director. Please submit all letters of interest by May 4. LITs will be notified on a rolling basis, and no later than May 7, if they are admitted into the program.
LIT Overnight: Thursday, July 26 – Friday, July 27
LIT Overnight*
Join your fellow LITs from the entire summer for a LIT only campout on Thursday night! Hang out around the campfire, roast s’mores, go on a night hike to experience the Backcountry in a whole new way, sleep under the stars, and create lifelong memories. Additionally, LITs in the overnight are invited to stay for the camp day Friday and participate in the Color Wars!
*LITs that are also working this full week of camp will come to camp on Thursday morning and will stay at camp until Friday at 4:15 p.m. LITs not working this week of camp will arrive/get dropped off at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday and have the option to stay the camp day Friday for the Color Wars.
