SPREE= South Platte River Environmental Education
Where: Train car suspended over The Cherry Creek; 1399 Delgany St Denver CO 80202
Who: Campers entering 1st (must be at least 6 years old) through 5th grade
When: We offer week-long day camps. Camps run Monday through Friday from June 4th through August 17th, from 8:00AM to 6:00 PM. Please note that 4:30 - 6:00 PM requires and additional aftercare fee.
8:00AM - 9:00 AM Flexible drop-off time, free explore and craft time
9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Planned activities and adventures by the river
3:00 PM - 4:30 PM Flexible pick-up time, free explore and craft time
4:30 PM - 6:00 PM Aftercare: free explore and craft time; cost is additional $30/child/week

Themes:
June 4-8: Special Agent Training: Join the the SPREE Force and test your special agent skills while helping Chompers defeat evil villains and keep the River safe and clean!
June 11-15: SPREE Scientists: Ask questions, make hypotheses, experiment and explore many fields of science with SPREE.
June 18-22: The Secret Life of Mini-Beasts: See the world from a bug’s-eye view. Get up close and personal with the tiny creatures in and along the South Platte River.
June 25-29: Outdoor Adventure Skills: Find your way, set up camp, and leave no trace as you adventure along the South Platte River.
July 2-6: NO CAMP
July 9-13: Water Engineers: Discover the many ways that people travel on, transport, and treat our water (and design your own)!
July 16-20: Iconic Colorado: From the Blue Spruce, to the Lark Bunting, and more - become a Colorado expert as we explore the iconic symbols of the centennial state!
July 23-27: Time Travelers: Take a journey through the ages from prehistoric to present. Dig into dinosaurs, dive into ancient seas, and discover the people of Colorado’s past.
July 30- August 3: Tangled in the Food Web: Delve into local food webs and make connections between the sun, plants, animals, and decomposers.
August 6-10: Journey of the River: Where does it come from? Where does it go? Uncover the answers to these questions and more as we delve into the depths of the South Platte.
August 13-17: Inspired by Nature: Get creative with SPREE! Use the River as a muse and express yourself through music, movement, writing, and visual arts.
