From Synthpop to Hair Metal, the 1980's were a decade of musical evolution as bands embraced new technologies in sound production and mass media. Fueled by the rise of MTV, artists such as Tears for Fears, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Madonna and Prince found a huge audience for their post-disco pop music, while at the same time established acts such as Genesis/Phil Collins, Tina Turner and Peter Gabriel continued their reinvention and hair metal acts such as Def Leppard, Whitesnake and Poison rose to prominence on the pop charts. Join School of Rock Denver as we explore the imprint that this wild decade left on the development of rock music! This is a performance-based camp which will feature placement in a band setting, daily rehearsals and group instruction, and a fun end-of-camp concert open to the public. Open to players of all abilities, but basic competency on each instrument is recommended. Camp runs 9am-3pm, M-F August 7th-11th, with a concert in the evening on the final day of camp. Ages 10-18. Ability Level: Beginner-Intermediate-Advanced
