Sing your heart out!

This one week vocal intensive provides a comprehensive musical experience for students who are interested in the art of both solo and partnered/ensemble singing for theater and performance and for those who love contemporary musical theater shows such as: Waitress, Hamilton, In the Heights, Next to Normal, Kinky Boots and more!  The week long curriculum includes vocal coaching, some sight singing, attention to diction, advanced harmonies, and a focus on stage presence and presentation as it relates to vocal performance.  We will approach the popular music from these groundbreaking musicals setting an ambitious precedent for our youth singers.  A final concert will be presented on the evening of the last class at our black box theatre.

Fee: $395

Session 2: Acting for Comedy & Drama

AGES 12 – 17
Camp Dates: July 3 – July 7 (1 week). No camp July 4.
Final Presentation: July 7 (Fri) at 4pm

There are many talented young actors who want to act but not necessarily sing and dance. This one-week drama intensive is geared towards this actor as well as the musical theater actor who wants more formal dramatic acting training. Straight acting is different than acting for musical theater in that it demands subtly, an attention to text, and the skills necessary to navigate the internal experience of a character so acting is natural and authentic. In this intensive, we will explore the fundamentals of scene study, introduce students to dynamic acting methods and prepare them to approach work in the realm of the “straight play” with more confidence and charisma. A final casual presentation of scene work will take place on the last day of the camp session in our black box theatre.

Fee: $395

How WE’RE DIFFERENT from other theater camps!!

  • We produce top notch youth theatre and a strong community. We train our actors to work as a team. Ensemble work accompanies all the work we do and the students thrive on it!
  • We do more than just put on a show. We train our students to think outside the box, make unique creative choices, and understand the tactics and objectives of their characters.
  • We hire only professional theatre staff. Our teachers are theatre professionals with professional performance experience as well as a B.A. and/or M.A. in theatre. All our teachers are trained by us with a passion for the performing arts.
  • We are an equal opportunity program and there are no student “stars”! Each student has an equal shot at the part of their choice.
  • Low student-teacher ratio of 10:1 or less! We achieve a lot in a short time and do so by keeping our programs well-staffed with a low student-teacher ratio. Does not apply to one week camps.
